Zumba Fitness is a workout class which incorporates many of the moves inherent in South American dance such as Salsa, Merengue, etc. Rather than Jazzercize you might say it's Salsasize! $10/person, teens & adults Special! - Pre-register for $50 and you may come to all classes for one month! Topics covered will include nutritional healing with raw/livings foods, growing healthy sprouts and wheatgrass at home, and an overview of current literature & websites on nutritional healing. Click here for more info. Dances of Universal Peace top The Dances of Universal Peace are a joyous, multi-cultural way to touch the spiritual essence within ourselves and others. The Dances use sacred phrases, chants, music and movement from many world traditions. No experience is necessary, the dances and songs are easy to learn and will be taught to the whole group each time. Like hundreds of circles around the world, the Living in Harmony Traverse City Dance Circle is part of the International Network for the Dances of Universal Peace. Argentine Tango 3-Day Experiental Painting Workshop details on workshop, see our special events page or visit Deb Purdy's website International Folk Dancers - all welcome top The Traverse City International Folk Dance group has been meeting for some 25 years in various places around TC. Now their meeting place is Just Imagine on Wednesday nights from 7-9pm. Dancing is to recorded music, with soft soled shoes and mostly Greek, Israeli, Balkan style dances (often in circle form). The music is lovely and the dances range in style from slow and contemplative to fast and energetic, though never rough! New recruits of any age are always welcome. Instruction is given for the first half of the evening and after that, people are welcome to "shadow" the dances to pick them up "on the run". $3-5 suggested donation. top call Richard Fidler for info |
